- First Edition of Murdoch's first novel w/ ex-libris bookplate Signed by Murdoch to front free endpaper and a Signed letter from Murdoch laid in - Receipt for the book from the previous owner dated 12 September 1994 for �360 laid inside - Original green cloth boards lightly rubbed w/ spine ends and corners slightly crushed - Edges of text block tanned and foxed w/ some shelf wear and what looks like a pencil mark to fore edge near top corner - Minor toning to endpapers - The Victor Ross designed dustwrapper is unclipped but faded and toned w/ edges chipped w/ several small tears - Some loss to spine ends and corners w/ approximately 1cm of head and tail missing - A desirable and interesting copy - 286 pages.
