Hardback. Police veteran and author Cherokee Paul McDonald teams up with Al Smith ('Al Sanetti') of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department to tell one of the most riveting true stories in the annals of crime: Smith was his department's first undercover contract killer. Murder for hire - South Florida style - is no longer the sole domain of professional criminals. A mother-in-law, a wife, a husband, may pay thousands of dollars to kill an inconvenient relative or competitor. Smith's job was to intercept these job offers, presenting himself as a hit man, take the money, collar his 'employer' to save a life, and somehow survive himself. Smith's double-life, told by himself and a seasoned writer and ex-cop who knows the police beat first-hand, is a unique and stunning vision of a special underworld never before revealed. 229pp. 8vo. h/back. From the library of true crime writer, Wilfred Gregg, with his personal b/plate. F. in F. dw.
