First Edition. Publisher's blue buckram with gilt framed lettering to the spine and a filt swan motif to the front board, blue wash to page block edges. Quarto, pp. x, [312] with nineteen typefaces represented. A book in Very Good condition, now in a clear, removable, archival quality, protective sleeve. The first of Hazell's Type Specimen Books was published in 1874 as 'A Few Specimens of Book Printing', followed by 'Specimens of Book and Fancy Types' (1880), 'Types' (1909), 'Type Faces' (1925) and 'Hazell's Book of Type Faces' in three editions (1931, 1937 and 1940).
