This heavy book has been bound in a midnight blue with a title label on the spine. There is surprisingly no corner bumping or edge wear. Library mark blind punched on the title page and again on page 43. The book has numerous repairs that are well done. Sturdy new end papers. Small paper patches in the text. Frontispiece portrait page has a large side chip. It does not damage the portrait itself. Pages with the most repair 47-50. Text has slighlt yellowed with age, no foxing. There is a small tip-in of his tomb between 310-311. This will need to be treated with care has the paper has bequn to part. 363 pages text, Appendix 365-379, Notes 381-396, Index 387{erratta, meant 397}-405 followed by one page publisher catalogue. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
