First Edition. Basis for the 1945 film noir. Anthony Mann's directorial debut. Very Good plus in a Fair to Good example of the scarce dust jacket. Small chips at the extremities, separation at some folds, slight fading on the spine, and cello tape reinforcement repairs on the inside jacket corners and hinges. The Dark Page I: 1940-1949, p. 36.
