This book is one of the best in showing where different turquoise comes from and how to identify it. There is a two page map of SW USA (pp30-31) that lists where each mine is located and ALSO shows an example of a polished nugget from each one. Color photos of nearly every type of turquoise one can find:Turkey,China,Tibet, India, and Southwest USA. Many examples of spondylus shell ( red spiny oyster) used in Indian jewelry.
