Provides wonderful descriptions & thought provoking analysis of landscapes and people, concluding in a sort of synthesis/comparison of the Western "notion of doing" with the oriental "notion of being." Vols. have rough cut fore-edges; minor underlining on pgs. 9 & 10 of v.l and to pgs. 9 - 16 of Vol. II. else interiors are very clean & good; Previous owner's name on ffep; covers show minor shelf wear with very light staining, but remain serviceable and attractive.
