Item description from seller

Hardcover with dust jacket, published by Routledge, 1990. An examination of the cultural shift in Britain from a rural society to an urban one, a staggering shift in the cultural frame work of the society that laid the foundation for modern Britain. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. 235 pages with Index, illustrated throughout with black and white photos, charts and maps. Dark green cloth covered boards with the title and author's name imprinted on the spine in gold. All lettering is crisp and not rubbed. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. This is not a remainder, not a library discard. One very small stain on the top edge of the front flap of the dust jacket is the extent of wear, about 1/4 inch both across and wide, only appears on the dust jacket not on the boards or text pages. There are a couple dots of foxing to the top edge of the text block. Attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
