About this Item
NF/ NF. First edition. Red woven cloth with gilt lettering inside blind-stamped ruled rectangle on front cover, gilt lettering on the spine. Contains B&W frontispiece plus 4 other B&W illustrations by Oliver Kemp. In a scarce 98% complete DJ with a printed color illustration by Oliver Kemp that is not in the book, the DJ having minor chip at the top of the spine and again along the top edge of the rear panel, plus a small bit of edgewear. Both the book and DJ are in excellent condition, the book being tight and bright and unmarked, the dust jacket being quite colorful as well as scarce. Kemp is a Howard Pyle student. One of those historically based boys series books like Rupert Holland did in the 1920's, this one about George Rogers Clark and his role in adding the 'Northwest Territory' (now known as the upper midwest) to the United States.
