[Modern Literature] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (18 x 12cm), pp.[ii] ii; 172. Marbled softcovers with a white title label to front cover, lettered in black. Pp.3-36 have a very small stain on the bottom right corners, toning to edges of textblock, some toning to white title label. Very good. Bleiler states in 'The Guide to Supernatural Fiction' that 'Tourmalin's Time Cheques' is a 'short fantasy novel, one of the earliest to deal with disrupted time sequences'. The protagonist of the story (Tourmalin) invests some money in a time bank. He is able to cash his 'time cheques' in whenever he wants, into any clock; he often uses the time to escape from his 'domineering fianc�'. However, the cheques are not in sequence which often leaves Tourmalin confused about what has happened and what is about to happen.
