Beautifully produced and somewhat lavish in its sheer grandiosity, this is the complete two volume set published by Bollingen of the Tomb of Ramesses VI with one bound volume containing the texts and interpretations, while the second volume contains 196 loose plates in foldout board box. First volume is illustrated as well, with 130 odd illustrations over 450 odd pages. Quarter cloth, matching burgundy and tan over the two sets. Both volumes in superb condition. The binding on Volume 1 is sturdy, solid, square - no minor feat for a book of its size. The interior is bright and clean, without any marks. Teeny little bump to one of the foredges of the boards, but hardly. Boards clean and firm. On this volume and the the box containing the plates, there are rectangular areas of rubbing by the titles on the spine cloth - it seems that perhaps there used to be a sticker there of some kind, although its hard to say if and why. The gilt lettering is still quite brilliant regardless, and this present the only real blemish of the whole set. The loose plates are all present and all appear in superb, crisp condition, appearing scarceley handled. At most, a few of the plates have teeny bits of wear at the very corners.
