This VG+ quality first edition book was published in 1966 by Grosset & Dunlap. It is 7-5/8" tall and has 178 numbered pages of text; it is format #3, as per Mattson & Davis's bibliography (Grosset & Dunlap; 7-5/8"; pictorial composition binding, medium blue spine & back cover with black lettering for title, white lettering for author; pictorial front, in colors; spine & back cover are light orange [or "school bus yellow"]; decorated end pages are black line drawings depicting the same scene as the early end pages did; frontis +8 to +11 full or partial page illustration, all on plain paper. No dust jacket). This book is square, extremely clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are lightly bumped with slight color loss. The bottom edges have virtually no wear except at the heel of the spine and both lower front corners, all of which have some color loss. Also, the top 2" of the fore edge of the front board has some color loss. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. Both hinges are very strong and not damaged. The frontis and other illustrations are intact. The paper is quite flexible.
