About this Item
first edition, rebound in new cloth-covered boards, retaining original endpapers, 232 pages, clean throughout, gilt titling of original cloth retained, legible though showing age. Apparently rare - no original printings on offer at time of posting. David Patrick Moran (1869-1936) was a Waterford-born journalist and writer, a strong advocate of Catholic Irish nationalism, a culture that is on the wane only in recent decades. He is credited with inventing the terms West-Brit and shoneen as terms of contempt for Catholics who supported British rule in Ireland. He sometimes used the name of this novel's title character as a nom-de-plume. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Seller Inventory # 27960
