1982 Harrap, 1982. . First. VG, gilt titles on spine. 11x9. 192pp. Master batsman Tom Graverley OBE has compiled a fascinating book for cricket enthusiasts. Packed with opinions that will start arguments and facts that will settle them, the former England star has selected his top ten Test cricketers from as wide a range of categories as possible. Few people are better qualified than Tom Graveney to produce such a book. As a child, his enthusiasm for cricket made him an avid spectator. He became the first batsman in postwar cricket to score a century of centuries; he proved as captain of Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and, briefly, England that he had one of the most astute tactical minds in the game. Since his retirement he has been closely associated with the game in his role as BBC commentator. Many of the players mentioned in this book he has therefore played with or watched at first hand. His own selections will make compulsive reading for any cricket-lovers who have ever fancied themselves as Test selectors and he invites the reader to join him in choosing his teams. As an added bonus he includes a full statistical breakdown of the top ten Test batsmen and bowlers in all categories. The result is a work of authority and knowledge which will delight - and provoke - cricket lovers everywhere. Size: 4to.…
