Smiley and his people are facing a remarkable challenge: a mole - a soviet double agent - who has burrowed his way in and up to the highest level of British Intelligence. His treachery has already blown some of their vital operations and their best networks. The mole is one of their own kind. But which one?
''His people are full-bodied, believable individuals, the minor characters as vivid as the main cast ... a stunning story'
The Wall Street Journal

John le Carre's Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy presented in a short-lived TV tie-in dustjacket. A few copies of the third impression (still a 1st edition of course) were released to tie-in with the release of the BBC TV series starring Alec Guinness. This copy is in fine condition , very close to being like new. Just a couple of miniscule tears to the back of the DJ stops this from appearing to be new. There are no discernible problems with the book itself. Not a book club edition but a fully accredited Hodder & Stoughton release. 1st edition 3rd impression. Rare to the point of uniqueness (I haven't been able to find another copy online at time of listing). We pack our books properly using recycled materials where we can and ship daily from the UK. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. An incredibly rare copy of the Lamplighter 1st edition 1st printing (thus) of the most influential spy novel of the twentieth century. Hodder & Stoughton 1991. With an added introduction written by le Carre for this edition. 8vo., first edition thus; black cloth, upper board blocked in blind, gilt back, a very good++ copy in unclipped dust jacket. First published in 1974 and republished in this beautifully-designed Lamplighter series. The Lamplighter Edition is now scarce in its own right, but is still a very useful way of acquiring a matching set of le Carre s first seven spy novels for those of us who can t pay the inflated prices for the originals. This copy is very good++ but not quite like new as there is some (very) minor wear to the unclipped DJ. Generally, a very good copy indeed. We pack our books properly and ship daily from the UK.
