Description: Dust jacket art and interior illustrations by R L McCollister. Foreword by Charles Carson. The story of Chowning A Embree, nicknamed 'Timberleg' or 'Timber' for his wooden leg. The author first met Timber in 1889 when Timber was foreman of the Diamond Trail Ranch. In the foreword, Charles Carson states, ''One does not read Timberleg of the Diamond Trail, rather he goes with its author as a boy to the Southwestern frontier of America, traversing in a covered wagon the plains and mountains of the 1870s, later living the exciting life of the roaring eighties in the vast, rugged cow country.''
