Add to basket11964. First edition. 189pp. Francis Henry Durbridge (1912-1998) was an English dramatist and author. He is best known for the creation of the gentleman detective Paul Temple, and his three detective novels featuring Tim Frazer. In this novel, secret service agent Leo Salinger is run over in Amsterdam and fellow agent Tim Frazer is sent to investigate. The driver of the car seems innocent and Frazer decides that Leos death was misadventure, until he returns to London and finds another corpse. The book is bound in the original black boards with gold titling on the spine. The book is in excellent condition and the contents are tight and clean with a name and two sets of dates written on the front free endpaper. There is some foxing on the top edge of the text block and on some pages this has seeped a little way into the top margin. The unclipped dustwrapper has some shelf wear with light soiling and the spine is noticeably faded. The corners are slightly rubbed and the top of the spine is lightly bumped.
