The work of Christopher Sandeman, an explorer and botanist who travelled widely in the Andes in search of rare plants. This work is described by the publisher as 'better described as a rhapsody than an essay [.] expresses with the feeling of a poet the underlying source of his passion'. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent with minor shelf wear. The original unclipped dust wrapper is in smart condition. Spine is darkened and spotting to the panels.
