Presumed First edition, an export copy priced both in $ U.S. and in Sterling at the front flap. Hardcover in dustwrapper, 328 pages. Black cloth with gilt titles to the backstrip and the author's initials blocked to the upper cover. The author's important memoir of his experiences as the first black student to enrol at the University of Mississippi, as well as an espousal of his individual ideas about the future direction of the civil rights movement at the time. Corners bumped, toning to the text-block consistent with age but otherwise a VG clean copy - free from owner names, underlining etc and remains square and firmly bound. The dustjacket is unclipped but shelf-worn with historic repaired tears, corner-splits and edge-creasing. Fair to Good condition.
