Add to basket8vo. [5], 2-373, [1], [2] (pages of publisher's advertisements) pp. Bound in navy blue cloth with gold lettering and publisher's device in gold on the spine, double-ruled blind-stamped border to both boards. Inscribed "To the Rev. G. A. Weekes with the author's compliments" on the free front endpaper (without signature). Ownership signature of astronomer K. C. Westfold (dated January 1954) below the presentation. London Times, 24 June 1953. George Arthur Weekes was a colleague of Robb's at Cambridge and he died in June 1953. Presumably Westfold acquired the book shortly thereafter while a student at Oxford. Robb's book is significant as it introduced an axiomatic formulation of special relativity using the novel idea that a spacetime point is in the future of another just in case it is in the forward light cone of that point. A very presentable copy of Robb's best-known book, with very interesting historical associations. A Very Good book with light wear to the crown and heel of the spine, minor wrinkling to the cloth on the top corner of the front board.
