With the marriage of Melvil and Luisa, it is not for the best. To bring things back into balance, the two travel to Sicily, a break should work wonders. On the way to the hotel, Melvil turns off the federal road because he wants to show Luisa the sea. Which is not a good idea. The two get into a thunderstorm, get involved, and then their rental car rams an obstacle in the dark. Probably the right mudguard has gotten a lot, but Melvil does not bother getting out, he does not mess up the holidays just because it has once turned wrong. In Taormina, the two find a car workshop where the damage to the body can be discreetly eliminated. The local newspaper reports that a child has been hit from a migrant camp and fatally injured. In the workshop you rub your hands. May be that the repair will be more expensive than thought… Yves Ravey's novel is a perfid little masterpiece, brilliantly narrated, full of laconia and black humor. And a tribute to the classic novel noir that is groundbreaking.
