Add to basketAn apparent First Edition (NAP), Somewhat surprisingly, non-library copies of this book are very rare. Despite being published over a half-century ago this book is in excellent condition. Take a look at the photographs. The covers look really nice. They are very clean. There really isn't any wear to call out. The book is very solidly bound, no issues. And the pages are exceptionally clean. I didn't see any soiling. They're also bright and white. There are quite a few full-page illustrations which appear to be in perfect condition as well. No one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. There aren't any markings or attachments. It is NOT an ex-library book. I didn't see any creases or dogeared corners. The dust jacket is NOT clipped. As you can see from the first three photographs, it has held up quite well and looks very good. It doesn't have any soiling. It does have one tiny tear off the front top edge and a small tear off both the bottom and top edge of the spine. And one more off the top edge of the rear cover. All small, and that's it for wear. The dust jacket will be fitted with a protective cover. Note that the dust jacket and book have identical covers. As I said, the first three photographs are of the dust jacket. The remaining ones are of the covers of the book itself. From the dust jacket flap 'This book about Samuel is like nothing ever written before, because it includes material never used in any Bible tales for the young. Into Scripture's narrative the author has woven the colorful material of midrash and aggadah, the early homiletic and ethical teachings that true on ancient oral traditions to embellish the Biblical tales. Thus vivid details and whole incidents are added, known from no other source. Here is a unique portrait of Samuel from ancient Jewish tradition, taking the reader from his birth to his years of maturity in dramatic action-packed writing. Richly illustrated in the spirit of the epoch by a Aharon Shevo, one of Israel's rising young artists, it will enchant the young reader as it adds to his knowledge of one of Israel's great early leaders'.
