Two nonsense tales in verse by Edward Lear (1812 - 1888): 1, The Pobble (who had no toes/had once as many as we) lost the piece of flannel that kept his nose warm & toes on his feet, and wound up toe-less (just how, we do not know); and, 2, the tale of the Quangle Wangle Quee who sits quite alone on the Crompetty Tree with a hat so large (two hundred & forty feet wide!), with ribbons, bibbons, bells, buttons, loops & lace so profuse that none every saw his face .delightfully whimsical, wonderfully humorous, and distinctly Lear.
