The editors decided to also include this volume in their list of Notable English Trials, despite criticism, as the trial took place in Westminster Hall, and the procedure adopted was purely English in origin. The Lord Chancellor presided, the Managers who conducted the prosecution were led by the English law officers of the Crown. The prisoner was impeached by the Commons and tried by the Lords. Teg.
