First edition, (x), 240pp, 40pp 'Catalogue of Books and Announcements of Methuen and Company Publishers' dated March 18th 1897 found at back of book, pages clean and crisp, green cloth cover, with gold lettering on spine and front cover, top corner of front cover sunned, contemporary black ink signature to front free endpaper dated 1894, page edges untrimmed, internally and externally sound considering its age. Sir Gilbert Parker (1862-1932), Canadian novelist and British politician, MP for Gravesend (1900-1918). The book is set in Canada. Size: 7.75" x 5.25".

The Old Hall Bookshop was established in 1977 by John and Lady Juliet Townsend. The Old Hall is a very fine 18th century house in the centre of Brackley, a pleasant market town about 18 miles north of Oxford. The shop has a large stock of antiquarian, secondhand, new books and maps covering a wide range of interests and prices. We welcome visitors and trade customers. Parking is easy in the Market Square. Disabled access available. Opening hours: We are open every day except Sunday and Bank holidays, from 10am to 5:30pm. We attend a number of Book Fairs each year.
