Undated, published by the Oxford University Press, possibly 1930s or 40s, this is a very scarce collection of thirty two printed cards with instructions for making a variety of Children's toys from everyday household items, the cards measure 8.5 inches by 6 inches approx., printed in colour, housed in the original printed paper envelope priced at three shillings, the toys include a puppet theatre, a matchbox fort, a matchbox horse, a caravan, toy fort, a model market, a steam engine, a matchbox table, a matchbox wheelbarrow, a model village, a windmill, a matchstick doll, matchbox dresser, matchbox ship, matchbox chair, a toy bus, a doll's suitcase, a railway carriage, a matchbox wagon, a matchbox cinema, a racing car, a matchbox racing car, an acrobat, cork furniture, a golliwog, a matchbox van, Noah and his Animals, Acorn people and animals, a twig doll, a model Viking ship, Noah's Ark etc. all thirty two cards are present including one instruction card, some handling marks to the cards, the envelope is noticeably worn with surface wear, small tears and partial loss to closure flap, old ownership name to top else in good general condition, extremely scarce, only one set found in an institutional library collection and that is the set located in the Royal Danish library.
