Limited first edition catalogue of the spectacularly influential collaborative art exhibition on the theme of modern ways of living, held at the Whitechapel Art Gallery in 1956, designed by Edward Wright and edited by curator Theo Crosby. THIS IS TOMORROW featured twelve collaborative exhibits by multidisciplinary teams of artists, sculptors, and architects, all loosely focused on the theme of modern ways of living. The installation by Group Two, and particularly the collage by Richard Hamilton ("Just what is it that makes today's homes so different, so appealing?") was later claimed by Reyner Banham as "the first Pop-Art manifestation to be seen in any art gallery anywhere in the world, complete with juke box, advertising imagery, science fiction quotations, and made great play with communications theory, topology and other topics generally associated with the 'anti-classical' approach in England at that time."
