First impression of the first paperback edition. ***Very good in colour-illustrated wrappers. Fore-edge of text-block lightly foxed. No foxing to interior pages. Pages slightly browned. Extremities of wrappers slightly rubbed and creased. Top and bottom corner of front wrapper creased. Spine tight. No inscriptions. No fading. Spine and front and rear wrappers bright. ***178mm x 108mm. 192 pages. ***The British writer Edwy Searles Brooks (1889 - 1965) (pen-name: Berkeley Gray) was a prolific British novelist born in Hackney, London, responsible for the Sexton Blake novels. He is thought to have written around 40 million words. He used many pen-names including the following: Reginald Browne, R. W. Comrade, Victor Gunn, Rex Madison, Carlton Ross, and Edward Thornton. ***'Featuring the reckless private investigator, Norman Conquest.' ***'A panic-stricken man is threatened with death.
