_____Small booklet, 6 x 3.5", being a prospectus for a hog-raising operation in Texas._____ The covers are somewhat soiled and edge worn. _____ Undated, but the style seems turn-of-the-century and the author speaks of ".the immense packing plants [which] have started at Fort Worth.". _____ It all seems suspiciously vague as evidenced by Mr. Innes' description of the site._____"Swine Land consists of 1,000 acres of moist land situated in Southeastern Texas, on the San Bernard river, about fifty miles north of its mouth." By my map-reading that should be between Hungerford and Kendleton, in either Wharton or Brazoria County._____ Mind you, Mr. Innes does not have possession of this tract, only an option at $5.00/acre. _____ Mr Innes reports that much of the property is currently in oak & pecan, furnishing a fattening windfall for the porcine guests._____ He provides a six-year estimation concluding with a return of $534.00 for each $10.00 share._____ . _____ And in case any investor is unsure how to spend this financial windfall, Mr Innes offers a menu on the rear cover."You Can Wear Diamonds, / Ride on Rubber Tires, / Smoke Fine Cigars and / Attend the Theater"._____certainly better than attending to the hogs. _____ Not in WorldCat (08/21). _____.
