The Concorde SST was a supersonic commercial airliner, developed and managed jointly by France and the UK. It began scheduled service in 1976, but was retired from service in 2003, due to multiple issues, both technical and financial. One significant problem was its noise level. Because it was built to fly faster than the speed of sound, it created sonic booms during both takeoffs and landings. This was, of course, undesirable when flying over populated areas. This is a technical report early in the Concorde's development that studied the oeperational effects of sonic booms. Privately published "In Confidence" for a limited audience (this copy has "Copy no. 65" hand-written at the top of the front wrapper). Beige plain wrappers with black printing. Stapled with a red plastic spine. Multiple maps and charts, with several of the maps colored in blue. Corners and front edge show minor curling, but no other marks or damage at all An unusual and scarce artifact for a famous, yet unsuccessful attempt at commercial supersonic flight. CH.
