Black endpapers. 800+ pages overall including prelims, 8 cromolithographed plates on card, of butterflies and caterpillars printed by J.A.Hofmann of Wurzburg. The publisher details at feet of spines somewhat dulled, rear board of volume 1 dulled after partial restoration of, presumably, damp bleaching.Slight foxing spotting to page edges with a very few leaves at adjacent to endpapers slightly browned. Volume 2 largely uncut, top edges of Vol.1 show no signs of incompetent cutting. Inscribed to Charles Pearce Esq. by William H.Holt, Christmas '84. An attractive, sound, hardly-used set.
