Bottom corners of cloth very slightly bumped. In this book, his eagerly awaited sequel, he covers the years from 1951 - a broad canvas on which he paints the major events of his life, some hilarious, some moving and all entertaining. He tells of the early Goon days and gives a wonderful backstage account of a Good Show recording; we learn of the night that Spike Milligan jumped on his trumpet and of Peter Seller's macabre last laugh; of family life in Cheam; how he pulled off Oliver's ear; how the idea of the musical Pickwick was born on a Barbadian beach; the time when he lost his voice and the Queen said it would be a pity when he got it back; and the interview he nearly had with the Pope. Chock full of marvellous observation, vivid detail, fabulous characters and infectious good humour, this book is, like the author himself, absolutely irresistible. Illustrated. 216 pp.
