SIGNED and INSCRIBED by author with gift inscription to the author Rumer Godden to half title page: 'To Rumer Godden with affectionate regards. Mathuram. 21.9.64'. SCARCE book. Good plus condition, blue boards with orange lettering and white illustration to front board, orange and white lettering to spine. Corners and spine tips crushed and frayed, rubbing to edges of boards, rear board rather grubby with rubbing. Light tanning to prelims and some marks to other pages. B/w plates - illustrations 'taken from the ancient sculpture of India and Java'. Solid binding.

We are a family run bookshop in rural Galloway, based in a restored eighteenth century cotton mill. We are open daily April to October. We have a very good collection of Scottish books, poetry, art and architecture, and natural history, and a good general collection.
