This book, with the text by art historian Dmitri Shvidkovsky, chronicles the history of the city's planning and construction from Peter the Great's time to the reign of the last tsar, Nicholas II. The book is illustrated throughout with photographs by Alexander Orloff. In fine condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. The dust jacket is in near fine condition with slight nibbling to the top edges of the top and back covers and the spine.
