Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, eight colour plates and numerous in-text images. Collated complete. In the depths of beechwoods lived a family of red squirrels, secure in their freedom of the forest. Until Rufus ventures out one day and finds himself face-to-face with a grey squirrel, beginning a drama the likes of which these woods have never before seen. Written by Richard Thomas Church, an English writer, poet and critic. Illustrated by John Rattenbury Skeaping, an English sculptor and equine painter and sculptor. In the original green cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with light wear to the extremities and the odd small spot. Minor sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light spotting to the foredge and age toning to the endpapers. Very Good Indeed.…
