VERY NICE COPY OF EARLY PRIMER FEATURING "SPOT" OF DICK AND JANE FAME. This is Spot in his earliest form as a Terrier before he was changed to a Cocker Spaniel in 1936. When Spot was created, Terriers were the most popular breed of dog. In the later 1930's, Cocker Spaniels became top dog, hence Spot's transformation into a Cocker Spaniel. Bright, colorful illustrations throughout by Margaret Freeman. 40 pages. Last page has check marks next to words in the word list. Previous owner name on rear cover. Blue and brownish diamond pattern on cover with Spot. NOT an ex-school and not an ex-library copy. Scarce and sought after title.
