First hardback edition, a well used copy with many neat fountain pen annotations, first and last few leaves are hinge-reinforced with brown paper tape, we have further repaired the front internal hinge with new scrim so the binding will be solid for years to come. The boards are wavy and grubby but no hinge fraying, only minor cornerwear. Ttiling faded on spine. Brown endpapers wrinkled and stained. Text block reasonable and servicable and the annotations actually enhance and give atmosphere to the book as they are very neat and show an excellent grasp of Japanese written characters. This despite that the bulk of the book is intended to be studied in the English phonetic form of the language. 273pp + 4pp adverts. Size: 8vo.
