One in a large series of mystery & adventure books for young adult (YA) boys & girls in the early decades of the 20th century, this series featured "boys who like to go fast, whether.in a submarine, power launch, automobiles, motorcycles, or ice racers (Keeline, 2021). A 1913 FIRST EDITION, unknown printing from Cupples & Leon, this 12mo has light tan cloth over boards decorated & lettered in green & black to front & spine, in 206 pages with a glossy frontispiece + 6 pages of other Rockwood titles in rear. Condition is VG: very clean, pages moderately tanned, but supple & completely unmarked (save for small number stamp to bottom of ffep), stitched binding strong but a little shaky. Exterior shows light bumping to corners & spine tips, heavier to top-outer corner of front cover. NO DJ (missing).
