Item description from seller

Green cloth with dull gilt lettering. Spine and edges unevenly sunned. Endpapers and closed outside edges show foxing. Text is overall clean and bright, lightly tanned. "The pervading theme of the book is the network of human interest which links Switzerland with most of the fields of man's endeavour in literature, art, music, history and every-day life. It attempts to give some answers to the question why apart from the obvious reason of its beauty and its mountains, Switzerland occupies so privledged a postion in the affections of so many people." (from the jacket flap.which is included as a bookmark).
