Gilt lettering and design on front board - both now without gilt. 2 folding maps at rear - both present. A first edition, first impression. The book is bright, clean and tight. The front and back boards are very clean. The corners are sharp. The spine is sharp, the spine ends are trivially bruised. The spine is slightly faded. The pages are very clean. The closed page edges are dulled, dusty and flecked. An old folded map of Abyssinia has been attached to the rear of the frontispiece photograph.
