LOANE, MARCUS L. Most Rev. M.A., D.D. (1911-2009) Abp. of Sydney. Sons of the Covenant. Sydney : Angus & Robertson, 1963. dw. 8vo. First edition. 203 pp. Original red cloth cover in fine condition with gilt title on spine. Dustjacket very good condition with some slight browning around the edges and a small split tear at the top of the spine. Unclipped. Contents clean, crisp and unmarked. A very good copy of this first edition! Written as a result of the profound influence which the tradition of the Scottish Covenants continues to exercise, this contains biographical studies of five men whom the author recognizes as Sons of the Covenant. They were all fired by a passionate loyalty to Christ's crown and kingdom, although this found different forms of expression according to the emphasis of the age to which they belonged.
