Contains several B&W photo plates, all present. With drawings from sketches by Marthe-Rosine Voisin. Addendum to biliography loosely inserted. A controversial work examining the link between soil conditions, nutrition, and disease. Pages have slight tanning and minimal foxing. Binding is firm. Slight edge tear p.267. Name in pen to FEP. Extensive notes in pen to rear pastedown. Boards have some moderate edge wear, with slight bumping to corners and minor bumping to spine ends. Boards a little rubbed, scratched and marked overall. Very sunned edges. Book has a slight forward lean. Unclipped jacket has light edgewear with small tears, mild chips, and creasing. Jacket is a touch rubbed and marked overall.
