First U.S. edition 1951 ex-library hardcover in 'tweedy' paper covered boards with red library tape over spine & gutters and white handwritten title on it. Spine ends chipped, tips rubbed round, ink stain on rear cover. Pocket pulled but all pages present, hinges taped, library sticker on frt pastedown. 189pp text is tight and pretty clean for such a well-loved, often borrowed book. Price-clipped, facsimile dust wrapper is from the Bodley Head, London 1954 edition and displays well in new mylar. A moving story about a great white stallion who was captured and tamed by young boy named Ken who named him Snow Cloud. Snow Cloud became more than just a companion to Ken, helping him in his daily tasks about the farm, admired by his friends, for he was a great horse, destined for great things, and before many months had passed, his powers of strength and intelligence had been put to the test.
