A first edition of Alexander Kent's 'Sloop of War', featuring his well known protagonist, Richard Bolitho. With the original illustrated dustwrapper, and maps to the endpapers. "The year in which the American War of Independence changed to an all-out struggle for freedom from British rule and the year Bolitho took command of the Sparrow." In original cloth binding with original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, cloth is smart. Dustwrapper is bright, although with some chipping and small closed tears to the extremities.
