Tinted lithographed title-page, lithographed dedication leaf, 25 hand-coloured lithographed plates (title-page, dedication leaf and list of contents heavily foxed, some marginal foxing to plates, occasionally migrating to the image). Half green morocco, green cloth boards, upper cover lettered in gilt, morocco lettering piece on spine (extremities worn with minor loss to foot of spine). Provenance: from the library of Jacques Levy, his sale, Sotheby's, 20th April 2012, lot 324 First edition, and RARE with original hand-colouring. The fine plates include a number of views of Edinburgh, Rosslyn Chapel, Glasgow, Holyrood, Stirling, Melrose, Bothwell and Abbotsford. [Abbey Scenery 492].
