This 1912 volume by Thomas H. Russell was one of the earliest book-length responses to the Titanic disaster. Published by National Bible House in Chicago, it includes accounts from survivors, journalistic coverage from the time, and reflections written soon after the event. Fred S. Miller and Henry Van Dyke added notes and scientific commentary. Numerous illustrations throughout show passengers, the ship, and related scenes. Fairly uncommon in original form, this edition also includes a section explaining iceberg behavior. Good. The text block is loose but complete, with wear to corners and spine. Page toning, as is common to books from this time period, has made the pages brittle and handling to pages has left several edges and corners chipped. Illustrations remain intact and legible. Octavo (8vo), single volume. Collation: 320 pp. Illustrations: extensive in-text artwork throughout. Edition: First, 1912. References: [none cited]. Item Number: #28849.
