Octavo. 462p. index. bibliography. Signed by the author. It was rugged frontiersmen like Al Sieber that were essential to winning the Army's battles in the West. As Thrapp repeatedly shows when Sieber was not present Generals George Crook and Nelson A. Miles were in losing battles. Of course, it was Crook that recognized how valuable Sieber was. A fine copy in a near fine clipped blue pictorial dust jacket lettered in white.
