Item description from seller

London: William Owen, 1759. The Title Page continues "Their Mariages, Issue, Descennts, and immediate Ancestors; the Posts of Honour and Profit they hold in the Govenment; their Arms, Mottos, and Chief Seats. With an Index, Specifying the Time of their respective Creations, and Summons to Parliament; the Titles of their Eldest Sons; their Rank, Precedence, &c." The author is Thomas Salmon (1679-1767) who also published volumes on the English and Scottish nobility and was an editor of the "State Trials." This is a disbound copy of the First Edition. The leather covers are present but loose, as is the first endpaper. The textblock is still attached to the leather spine, which has five raised bands and an embossed title. Clean text; very bright and fresh; 272 pages, with a six-page index and a one-page publisher's advert in the rear. The Title Page has an embossed chop from an English library. Pages 167 to 180 have dampstain and a crease. [Please note the condition issues. Quercus must offer this as a binding copy, in need of restoration or repair. In this case, well worth a rebind.]. First Edition. Disbound. Very Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
