Possible first printing with $3.95 on jacket flap, but no indication of printing. Tanboury, a very nice old man, is excited to buy a new pair of shoes to replace his battered, much mended old pair. But the old shoes do not go easily into the night! A strange tale, but no stranger than most folk tales. Ballas immigrated from Baghdad to Israel, where he first wrote in Arabic but eventually mastered Hebrew and became know for his stories, articles, and books written in Hebrew. Intriguing three-color illustrations by Ora Eitan. Book is FINE, very clean and fresh, unmarked. Dust jacket has some rubbing and a few short tears, original price intact on front flap.
