First Edition. 21 engraved voice and piano scores, separately titled and paginated, complete in one volume. Plate number M.S. 2137, Nos. 1-21. Libretto by M. Eugène Scribe, arranged for piano by Ch. Schwencke. Folio. Later half morocco and cloth boards, marbled endleaves. The binding and one gathering from the first score (pages 7-12) are detached, light scattered foxing, else a good sound copy. First performed at the Opéra in Paris on February 29, 1836, with soprano Cornelie Falcon, tenor Adolphe Nourrit and bass Nicholas Levasseur in the lead roles. A scarce complete edition containing all 21 piano-vocal reductions: 1. Orgie, 2. Romance (Nourrit), 3. Recitatif et Choral, 4. Chanson Huguenotte, 5. Cavatine du Page, 6. Grand Air/Cavatine/Quatuor, 7. Choeur des Baigneuses, 8. Scene du Bandeau, 9. Duo (Nourrit et Dorus Gras), 10. Serment/Quatuor, 11. Couplets/Litanies, 12. Ronde, 13. Le Couvre Feu, 14. Duo (Levasseur et Falcon), 15. Septuor du Duel, 16. Choeur de la dispute, 17. Romance (Falcon), 18. Conjuration, et Benediction, 19. Grand Duo (Nourrit et Falcon)/Cavatine, 20. Air (Nourrit), 21.
